Day 12: Write about five blessings in your life.
In the bible, Jesus Christ has given the mankind 7 blessings. They are his love, life, forgiveness of sins, holy spirit, spiritual understanding, spiritual gifts and ambassadors of God.
In Jewish rituals there are 7 blessings from God. They are love, a loving home, humor and play, wisdom, health, art and community.
In Chinees culture, there are 5 blessings also known as five happiness or five good fortunes. They are longevity, wealth, health and composure, love of virtue, and the desire to die a natural death in old age (or timely death).
In my life there are 5 blessings. They are my parents, education, literacy, strength, my grandma. I know that this list has commonly seen items around the world but they are precious for me too.
My first blessing is being born to a beautiful family. Without them, I would not be who I am today. I was aware that although they aren’t the best parents, my parents had done a tremendous job raising me to be a good person. Even if we may not have all of the wealth or glory in this world, we are certainly wealthy in happiness. Even though life can be difficult, we are happy people. Simply put, I’m proud of my family.
My second blessing is my education. I was sent to semi-government school which I had the privilege to learn in an English based environment. Later, I had the opportunity to enter one of the leading schools in my area. I met the most valuable teacher and friends in these school. Now, I am reading a bachelor’s degree in a private institute which helps me to choose my career. For all these years, I have learned a lot and that because I had this wonderful education. Not only the academic stuff but also social matters.
My third blessing is literacy. I have grown a particular passion for literacy since my childhood. My father sent me to the village library, where I started to read many books. Eventually, I started to write mini stories. Those stories included some incidents I saw during those day. As the time goes by, I started to write content on Medium. Literacy helped me to create many friends too because I was able to help many of my colleagues regarding some writings and lessons. I made me a resource person.
My fourth blessing is my strength. It is both my physical and mental strength. As I am the only child in my family, I have to play the both parts of being a supportive girl to my mother and a supportive boy for my father. I have learned from kitchen to the garage and continuing to do so. I was able to practice Karate in school which helped me to enhance my physical as well as my mental strength. Sometimes, I go down in my mental state. But I am confident enough to rise back to my level.
My fifth blessing is my grandma. She is the one who opened the doors to the literature for me. She taught me poems and stories since I was 4 years old. Her stories were mostly historical events or moral stories. I used to recite her poems in my classroom which I got the attention of my teachers because those poems were very old and they did not believe that knew them at all. My grandma allowed me to eat fruits that were not given to me by my mother. Grandma always said that I should get the experience and enjoy the taste of the village. She helped me to find out the little sparkle of literature inside me. I miss her so much.
