No Time To Die by Billie Eilish

The new James Bond film, “No Time to Die” is a dramatic, unsettling ballad that hints the plot will focus on the betrayal of the secret agent. “No Time To Die”, Billie Eilish’s theme song for the film is out, and it is unexpectedly traditional.

No Time To Die opens with a haunting piano motif which leads the singer’s voice shattered as she sings, “I should’ve known”.

The words seems to confirm the theme of betrayal which the fan theory explains, Bond will see him double-crossed by Madeleine Swann. The lyrics touches the super sleuth who has the license to kill with the line, “That the blood you bleed is just the blood you owe”.

The song becomes a very romantic betrayal as Billie asks, “Was I stupid to love you? Was I reckless to help?”.

As we discover, the world of James Bond is filled with actions, exotic locations, fancy gadgets, dramatic music and most importantly , sexy girls. In every story, James Bond has a beautiful girl to fall in love. But in the new movie, we sense that this practice of Bond leads him to a fall in his life.

As the chorus appears through the dramatic music, the singer develops her theme, “I’ve fallen for a lie. You were never on my side”.

In the first trailer, Swann asks Bond why she would betray him, leading to his reply: “We all have our secrets”. According to the previous movie “Spectre, we see that Swann is the daughter of Mr. White, a high ranking member of the SPECTRE organization. As the song says, “Faces from my past return”, the hint comes along that Swann might follow the theory of Blofeld, the lead of SPECTRE.

The song becomes more emotional as Billie asks, “Are you death or paradise?”. It emphasizes the emotional conflict in the notorious womanizer as he lose himself between his personal life and the professional life.

“Now you’ll never see me cry”, sings Billie as she concludes the song, “There’s just no time to die”.

The mix of Billie Eilish’s and her brother Finneas O’Connell’s words with Hans Zimmer’s music could earn many trophies. The last two Bond themes, Adele’s Skyfall and Sam Smith’s Writing’s On The Wall, both won an Oscar.

No Time to Die marks Daniel Craig’s swansong of James Bond. He portrays the killer machine that haunts the Agent 007. It is my opinion that No Time To Die is the most suitable song that deserve to be the final James Bond song of Daniel Craig’s era.
